Pluto's team are qualified, professional, and regulated trainers and pet care providers for Brixham. We provide services 7 days a week, excluding bank holiday weekends, national holidays and Christmas week.
The team has many years experience and qualifications between them with animals of different backgrounds, behavioural & physical needs. Our current collective qualifications include: FdSc Biosciences; BSc Animal Sciences; Canine Behavioural Problems & Solutions diplomas; IMDT Approved Dog Trainer; Canine Body Language Specialists; OFQUAL Canine Care, Behaviour & Welfare; Approved KAD Canine Trainer; Predation Substitution Instructor; whilst working towards MSc Behavioural Science. The team keeps up to date with the latest scientific research on positive training. We are guided by courses ran by the KAD, PST, Dog Training College, IMDT, APDT, highly recommended behaviourists and OFQUAL - all of which are governed by the UK Dog Behaviour & Training Charter.
We are proud members of the Pet Professional Guild British Isles who advocates for science-backed, fear free training. We do not conduct any care that involves aversive or coercive methods or equipment and are actively working to stamp out unqualified, dangerous people claiming to be trainers. Team
Stevie FdSc, BSc, KAD-AP, PST-CI
Stevie is the founder + head trainer of Pluto's. You will liase with Stevie when first starting your journey with us. She specialises in supporting animals and their caregivers with behavioural & physical additional needs.
Her qualifications include two degrees in BioSciences and Animal Sciences, certified trainer for the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, accredited canine trainer for KAD, certified canine instructor for PST and working towards her Clinical Canine Behaviourist certification. Stevie also has several diplomas in canine behaviour and welfare. Her work, and that of her team, is monitored and regulated by the PPG, APDT, IMDT and KAD.
Away from work, Stevie is mum to two children and two rescue cats. In her very limited spare time, Stevie loves to go on solo adventures in the mountainous regions of Snowdonia, Brecon Beacons and even Iceland - she's always looking for the next challenge and adventure.
Stevie is continuously furthering her studies and knowledge in animal care and welfare. Her goal is to help as many caregivers as possible, to provide a world that all of our dogs can be happy in. This would not be possible without the unwavering support of her team. Only through continued learning and professional collaboration are we able to achieve
this. Helping everyone, one animal at a time.
Becky
Becky joined Pluto's in January 2021 and now she mainly manages our group walks. Although, under Stevie's guidance, she is constantly learning and gaining experience with some of our dogs with additional needs.
Becky is OFQUAL level three qualified in Canine Care, Management & Welfare, and Canine Emergency First Aid. Becky also has several certifications in Canine Body Language. Her latest achievement was completing the IMDT Dog Trainer Course!
Becky has three children, two dogs and three cats. One of Becky's dogs, Liv, is a rescued ex-puppy farm breeder. Becky has been able to utilise all of her knowledge through Pluto's to give Liv the best retirement possible and ensuring her life has choice, including not serving the wants of humans! In Becky's spare time she enjoys crocheting to relax.
With the support of Stevie and Pluto's, Becky is furthering her education and knowledge in animal care and welfare.
